Is DeAngelo Hall’s career essentially over now that he’s (reportedly) being traded to Oakland?

Next year is our year! asked:

Reportedly the trade goes like this:

Raiders get: DeAngelo Hall
Falcons get: 2nd-round pick

Trade is dependant on the Raiders working out a contract with Hall. Is this a good thing or a bad thing for Hall???? I mean, I know he wanted out of Atlanta, but(to steal the phrase from Allen Iverson): “We’re talking about Oakland. Not New England, not Indianapolis, not Dallas…we’re talking about Oakland.”

that is certainly the trend, i.e warren sapp. but, maybe with Jamarcus taking over the team it will be different. they can’t suck forever. I’m not sure if the Falcons was any better, lesser of two evils.

That’s a great deal for the raiders. Come on a second round pick for a pro bowl corner he had an off year last year but still collected 5 INTs

Oakland has an excellent pass defense
This is a good move for him.
Their problem is with the offense. If they get that fixed he could be a big part of an exciting turnaround.

It seems like a hell of a deal, a young, perennial pro-bowler for a 2nd round pick that might not pan out.

I don’t think his career is over, as the Raiders are spending money like there’s no tomorrow, but it’s probably a bad situation for an emotional player that wants to win, and probably will have no greater chance in Oakland, as he did in Atlanta.

Not like Atlanta’s any better and had playing for a winning team been a motive he would’ve gone to NE for less money. Besides he’s playing next to one of the premiere Corners in the league.

Its a great trade for the Raiders who now have a replacement for Fabian Washington who they are likely trading now. His career is not over because he is young and a shut-down corner. Maybe he will realize that if he can keep his mouth shut, he could have been traded to a winning team- not the Raiders. I bet the good teams didn’t want to trade for Hall because of his criticizing of the Falcons’ staff and he would mess up team chemistry.
