It seems the Colts have the Broncos number….does anyone know when the last time Denver beat the Colts? It seems they get beat by them everytime they play, at least as far back as I can remember…Thanks
why they lost? peyton manning, reggie wayne, adam vinitieri. broncos were supposed to stop manning and he just shred them apart. williams of denver did a horrible job on wayne. and the best clutch kicker in the game. point here…never give peyton manning two minutes left in the game. just don’t do it. i’m interested to see next week. NE vs. IND. i’d be laughing it it comes down to a vinitieri FG and he misses it.
Actually Denver beat Indy 2 years ago and again 4 years ago but you are right Indy does seem to have Denvers number, some teams just do. It’s like Denver has New Englands. Denver has won 12 of the last 14 meetings and I’m sure there are others. Unknown why it happens to various teams.
Oh, it happens because of the nature of the game of football. First of all, every match up between teams is a “chess match” and if you out-guess your opponant you can coach an inferior team to a great victory over a “better” team.
I personally believe that the Denver team is more talented overall than the Colts, I think that Shanahan is a better coach than Dungy. But despite the fact that they were playing in Denver I bet my money on a Colts’s victory. (I actually thought it would be SO CLOSE as to be an overtime victory.) But for me the deciding factor was “Jake the Snake” verses Manning.
Its like a Chevy “Pop” verses a Lexus, – no contest………..
Broncos lost the game last night because Darren Williams could not stop Reggie Wayne. I’m a Broncos fan, and I was ticked watching Reggie Wayne abusing Darren in every play.
I agree with you, Indy has our number. We have the Patriots and Ravens number. Hopefully, that’s one of the teams we’ll meet in the playoffs.
While I agree that Indy has Denver’s number, the call on Plummer’s fumble was critical. I’ve seen that call go the other way (no fumble) lots of times. For one thing, Plummer’s butt and left elbow hit the ground before the ball was loose. Also, the whistle blew before Indy controlled the ball.
And Phil Simms always irritates me.
That said, Manning is a machine. Given his receiving crew, even a sad front four doesn’t blow his chance of winning every game. P. Manning is the best QB in the NFL.
