What is a nice suburb of Indianapolis?

We will be there in May for the Indy 500 and have decided to stay on the “outskirts” of town to try to save money, but we would prefer a nice clean suburb.

Fishers, Carmel (kind of expensive), Zionsville – they are all great towns/cities. Fishers and Carmel are both well taken care of and are relatively close to the Speedway. (I live in Fishers and it’s right off of I-69) I hope this helps!

Westfield is about 30 minutes north of town and offers a lot of shopping, restaraunts, etc.

Northeast side is the “best” area…But if you are coming in May for the race, you’d better make hotel reservations REALLY SOON (don’t wait)…The whole town fills up at that time…
Edit:
Fishers and Carmel are NOT near Speedway…It will be a 40 minute drive in good traffic (and during the race the traffic in Speedway is bad)
