There are lots of coverred bridges in Indiana. You can also find people who will give hayrides in horse-drawn carriages. You probably only need to go 15-20 minutes out of the city to find some. It might also be interesting to visit an amish farm, there are several in the Illiana area. Kids love farms and animals!

Try the zoo if your only going to be in Indianapolis. You can also check our Conner’s Praire which is north of Indy

The Indy Aquarium is excellent. Also the Indy 500 museum.

If your kids like race cars you could check out the Speedway. They have a museum there as well and a tour bus that can take you around the track.

There are many very good answers already posted explore them all.

Also check the local parks, some have public pools and one even has a “water park”.

Indy Parks water playgrounds are back! Spray grounds provide a fun and free way to cool off on hot summer days. Operating hours and play features vary by site. Spray Ground sites include: Andrew Ramsey Park, Arsenal Park, Windsor Village Park, Centennial & Groff Park, Haughville Park, 61st & Broadway Park, Washington Park, Christian Park and Municipal Gardens Park.

This is not only a chance to spend time with your chldren, but to help create wonderful memories that willl last their lifetime.

    Keep up the good work!

Another Idea take them to monument circle where you can go up inside the monument to the observation level. We did this as a class field trip in elementary school, I was amazed.

I highly recommend the zoo. Also, Conner’s Prairie isn’t to far away and is highly rated and interesting. If you want something less expensive one of the malls has a very fun play area and the store Galyans has a rock climbing wall. Also there are several water parks aimed at the younger crowd there.
