My vote is the beautiful West Baden Springs Hotel. It is about an hour’s drive south of Indianapolis, but well worth it. It’s been fully restored and is luxurious. They have plenty of meeting rooms and catering service, along with a gourmet restaurant on site. We just stayed there this week, and I have never seen a more luxurious hotel.

Try the newly remodeled French Lick Resort in French Lick, Indiana. A little far from Indy, but worth the drive.

Look into Jonathon Byrd’s Cafeteria. Great food, casual atmosphere in Greenwood. If you want go more north, Hollyhock Hill is very nice. It’s on College Ave just south of 86th Street. Both places cater to large groups and have extrordinary food.

#1 choice would be Jonathon Byrd’s. Have a blast and congrats.

What about the clubhouse at the Legends of Indiana Golf Course in Franklin? I’m not sure whether you need a membership to rent a room at the Clubhouse.

Also, Franklin College may have a nice building you may be able to rent.

As for Indianapolis… there is no shortage of places where you can host a party. Hotels, clubhouses, etc. I remember there was a very nice banquet hall along Westfield Blvd north of Broad Ripple… I don’t remember the name unfortunately.

are you on a tight budget, or not? what is the guest list like—mostly elderly, or kids all the way to elderly? are you looking for an “active” party or just a sit down dinner? inside? outside?

If I still lived in Bloomington, and was having an 80th birthday party for someone in Indy, I would have it at the Scholar´s Inn. Great food and very classy atmosphere!

u can try ricks boatyard restaurant here in indy. they have rooms that u can rent out for parties and they have live jazz bands play there…and very nice scenery!!
