About how much would it cost to rip out an in-ground pool in the Indianapolis area?

Also, if i could just fill it in with soil would it look as real? I don’t know how to get rid of the rim and I don’t know if it’s cheaper either.

I saw a really cool one done by filling the pool in with dirt, then they turned the pool into a garden. They laid stone over the rim of the pool creating a really nice looking border and raising the level of the garden. Wish I had pictures, it’s beautiful.

If you don’t rip it out, you will have to disclose it as a buried tank whenever you end up trying to sell your home. Failure to do so will end up in a hefty lawsuit, and you will end up paying for it to be removed, no question in my mind, I’ve seen it happen often.

It will cost less to remove it now while it’s empty, rather than after its filled up with dirt and concrete chunks. It is a common job, and won’t run much more than if you were just filling up a hole in the ground, maybe an extra $500. It will cost you 10 times that if you do it later.

    Consider this
Pools I have seen demolished had the bottoms broken up for drainage to prevent the area from turning into a swamp.
The coping & sides were just pushed into the hole as bottom fill..
Any excavating contractor can do it , but one experienced in pool demo would be the way to go.
Also , if you get lucky ,they may have clean fill from another job nearby he can use & also provide topsoil for replantong.
Cost will come down to the daily fee for the heavy equipment,
price of any additional fill , topsoil & any other sitework.
    Best regards
