I live in Camby, In. Just moved from Wayne Township to Decatur Township. I think IPS can get up speed with the Township school’s. My niece goes to IPS and she is approximately 1 year behind my daughter that is in the same grade. They are offered the same text books and curriculum, but IPS is told to dumb it down for the students. Why? You ask….because they feel the average student in IPS can’t do the work. They could if they are taught and given the chance. But it’s all demographics. IPS is full of poverty and hunger among the children and their family’s. And our local government does nothing to reach these people. All the care about are keeping the Colts and Pacers.
But for the future generations of IPS, I would like to see them working at the same pace as surrounding school districts. Give those children a fighting chance to compete with others around them.
