Would it make sense to move the National Capital from Washington D.C. to Indianapolis?

Think about this. I mean, I love and respect the conditions of New England like any other good Yankee, but I look at all the other countries with their Capital 's the closest to the center and the power may radiate to the rest of the country. Nomino Indianapolis and Washington DC should reorginized in the port city second only to New York.

It will never happen. There is too much money at stake. Plus, are we going to move the monuments and museums?

If that’s your reasoning then Lincoln, NE or Topeka, KS would be better choices.

There’s a reason Indiana is known as the “crossroads of america”. No one wants to stop.

1. Just exactly what other capital cities are you talking about? Ottawa, Canada? Moscow, Russia? London, England? Paris, France? Berlin, Germany? Canberra, Australia? New Dehli, India? Beijing, China? Seoul, South Korea?
Many countries, including some of the most powerful listed above, have capitals that are nowhere near their geographic centers. Your argument doesn’t make sense.
2. Washington, D.C. isn’t a port city now, nor would it become one in the future. The Potomac River is too rocky, narrow, and shallow for modern transport ships and tankers.
